The Center for Magnetic Resonance in Biology and Medicine, located at the Timone University Hospital in Marseille is seeking to appoint a full-time postdoctoral research fellow (16 months) starting october 2019. The position is in the “MSK Group” headed by D. BENDAHAN. The CRMBM is located on the Campus of the Medical School in Marseille, adjacent to the Timone University Hospital, the largest medical facility in Southern Europe. It is jointly operated and funded by CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research), Aix-Marseille University and the Public Hospital System of Marseille.
We currently have an opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic Post-doctoral Research Fellow to join us on a project entitled “Ultra-high field Quantitative Imaging of bone microarchitecture”. The aim of the project will be to develop, optimize and evaluate an integrated imaging protocol aiming at quantifying mineral contents in human bone based on systematic comparisons between solid-state MRI at 7T and X-ray synchrotron-based technics. Initial experiments will be performed in anatomical samples using both techniques and the ultimate goal will be to design a specific MRI protocol which will be used in patients. The candidate is expected to have a solid background in investigative techniques such as MRI and/or X-ray synchrotron-based technics and to be familiar with the field of bone microarchitecture and mineralization.
Successful candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent degree with expertise broadly relevant to the research areas. He/She must have excellent oral and written communication skills and must be able to work in a team environment.
